Roles and Responsibilities
I acknowledge that I am agreeing to provide direct and/or indirect supervision of children and/or young adults attending GMG summer camp sessions in-person and/or online. In that position, I take responsibility for the well being of each student assigned to my care, and will put their needs and interests first when making decisions. I understand that in an emergency situation it is my primary responsibility to secure the safety of each student assigned to my care, and secondarily to assist in the security of other students and staff.
I agree to:
Behavior and actions
I will refrain from publicly participating in any activities that are contradictory to or violate GMG values and that may negatively impact the business or reputation of the company. In the course of my employment, I will uphold GMG values to all campers. I confirm have read and understand those values.
In my position I will be serving as a role model for the campers and I will strive to set a positive example of conduct at all times through my words and actions.
I acknowledge that participation in or encouragement of any acts of vandalism is against company policy and that the company reserves the right to seek reimbursement from me of any costs incurred for the repair or replacement of any damaged or defaced property belonging to GMG or the camp host.
Child Safeguarding
I will work with any safety training and guidelines provided by Girls Make Games. I will also abide by the following Child Abuse Guidelines for Staff Relationships with Children:
I will avoid all abusive behavior as defined in the following Definition of Child Abuse, which includes:A physical injury which is inflicted by other than accidental means on a child by another person;
Sexual abuse, including both sexual assault and sexual exploitation;
Willful cruelty or unjustifiable punishment of a child, resulting in physical pain or mental suffering;
Corporal punishment or injury; or
Neglect, including both severe and general neglect.
If I witness, become aware of, or reasonably suspect abusive behavior by others, I will immediately report it to the Company and, to the extent required by applicable state law, to the appropriate agency.
I acknowledge that possession of any of the following items at the workplace is strictly forbidden:Alcohol, mind alerting substances or tobacco products or any smoking/ vaping device;
Firearms or other weapons;
A replica firearm or any other weapon;
Illegal drugs or controlled substances;
Flammable materials; and
Pornography or other sexually oriented materials including nudity in visual or written materials or similar content.
My person and/or property may be subject to search at any time by a staff member, for the safety and protection of those attending GMG summer camps.
I certify that I have read and understood all the clauses in this code of conduct statement. In accepting the position of Camp Coordinator, Camp Counselor, Tech Lead, or Camp Artist, I further agree that failure to abide by any of the above items may result in my dismissal from the position, expulsion from camp and ineligibility for return. I have read, understand and agree to abide by all the above rules.
