Virtual game development workshops designed for beginners, intermediate creators & experienced GMG alumni ✨
Workshop Features:
Live, virtual sessions taught via Zoom. Students learn through group instruction led by an experienced instructor.
Play games together & make new friends from around the world!
Small, effective group sizes: 4-6 students per group
GMG will offer both all-girls and co-ed options to families. By expanding the program’s mission to include all kids, our virtual workshops aim to reach kids of all genders at a time when they are starved for opportunities to learn outside the classroom, to make friends, and to express themselves creatively.
Dates & Times:
Each workshop consists of 4 sessions.
Cycle #1: Saturdays; April 3rd; 10th; 17th; 24th *Registration has ended
Cycle #2: Saturdays; May 1st; 8th; 15th; 22nd *Registration has ended
Time Slots:
10am-12pm PDT / 1pm-3pm EDT
1pm-3pm PDT / 4pm-6pm EDT
*Students are welcome to join either time slot regardless of their geographic location e.g. students in London may join the 10am-12pm PDT workshop.
Tuition: $300*
We are pleased to offer a 40% reduction in tuition (from $500 to $300) sponsored by our partners PlayStation & Take-Two Interactive for all participants!

What do you need to participate?
Workshops are taught in English, hence proficiency in the English language is a prerequisite to attend at this time.

GMG Teen / Jr 🎮
Crash course in game development aimed at beginner + intermediate creators. Students will learn how to develop a game in Construct 3.
Curriculum:
Intro to Game Development, Design, Programming, Art, & Sound
Create a fully functional prototype by the end of the workshop!
Eligibility:
No prior coding or game-making experience required!
GMG Jr: ages 8-12
GMG Teen: ages 12-18
Upon successful completion of this track, participants unlock the opportunity to advance to the GMG Teen or Jr Pro track!

GMG Teen / Jr Pro 🎮
Designed for GMG alumni & advanced game-makers with previous Construct 3 experience, looking to expand their existing game project (or start a whole new project!) & take it to the next level.
Curriculum:
Special stand-alone modules. GMG will take participant input to cover topics including but not limited to the topics below.
GMG Teen *pro* Topics:
Write & cut your own game trailer
Publishing to Google Play
Multiplayer functionality
RPG mechanics e.g. top-down movement, character stats, inventory, etc
Advance cutscenes & dialogue
GMG Jr *pro* Topics:
Create your own pixel art & game music
Player animations
Advance platformer level design
RPG mechanics e.g. top-down movement
Action adventure mechanics e.g. health bar
GMG Teen *Pro* Eligibility:
GMG alumni (ages 13-18), graduated from the following programs:
2020 GMG Virtual Summer Camp (ages 12-18)
2020 GMG Teen/Teen Pro Global Workshops (Fall)
2020 Google Play Change the Game Jam Sessions
2021 GMG Teen/Teen Pro Global Workshops (Spring)
Students experienced in Construct 3 accepted on a case by case basis.
