Hi friends! My name is Kat Wenske, and I'm a self-taught sound designer, audio producer, and composer working at Team Audio. I've been working in the video game industry for 11 years now and have loved the challenges, creativity, and excitement of working on both AAA and indie titles!
Outside of work, I enjoy creating cosplay and props, going on food adventures, and my dog, Potato.
Message to campers:
I've loved playing video games since my early Duck Hunt days (Nintendo Entertainment System)! Video games are pure magic - they have the ability to share new worlds, characters, thoughts, and stories, no matter how small or large they may be! Growing up, I would never have imagined that I would one day be part of that adventure and help bring new games to life!
GMG Jr. is an amazing opportunity to learn more about game development and how YOU can shape your magic and bring your stories to life! I'm thrilled to help elevate the new generation of game developers with Girls Make Games and can't wait to see what YOU create!
Let's make great games together!

I can't wait to get to know you, see you soon! ♡
Message to campers:
Just two years ago I was applying for colleges and scholarships. After years of drawing, animating, and playing countless hours of video games with my family and friends, I knew I really wanted to pursue something in game design. Though, I didn't know quite where to start until I found Girls Make Games.
GMG had recently launched a program called the Change the Game Challenge with Google Play, where you could submit your own game design for a chance to have your talents recognized and rewarded. I applied, pouring my heart out into my submission hoping that I could stand out from the thousands of other competitors. Like a childhood fantasy, me and four other game creators were chosen nationwide!
GMG is a wonderful place and stepping stone to my journey into becoming a confident and strong game designer, not to mention priceless memories shared with people who love games just as much as you. Through them, I've made a game (Symphony), had the chance to meet big companies like PlayStation, Zynga, and Nintendo, experience the biggest gaming convention E3 and now, I get to help teach the next generation of bright game makers: YOU!
With that, I'm super duper excited to meet you, play some games and of course, share some wonderful game ideas!
See you soon! ♡
