GMG x Unity Game Design Contest

Girls Make Games is thrilled to partner with Unity to bring you the 2022 Unity Game Design Contest!

This contest aims to bring together girls all over the world to compete in a battle of creativity. Tell us about a game you’ve always wanted to make - that very special idea that lives in your head. No coding required, no bulky art tablets… just a pen, paper and your beautiful mind (wait please don’t send us snail mail, fill out the digital form below instead! :D)

Entry eligibility

• Open to girls and non-binary kids ages 8-18 across the globe!

• Submission deadline: February 1st, 2023.

let’s see about those prizes!

• Teen Category (13-18 years old):

  • 2 winners will receive 10 sessions of 1:1 mentorship to develop a prototype of their concept in Unity.

  • The prototypes will then be promoted on Girls Make Games website, and…

  • Winners will be invited to run a “How I Built This” session for the larger GMG community of students.

• Jr. Category (8-12 years old):

  • Top designers will receive a package of exciting prizes put together by our games partners PLUS-

  • Invitation to attend a special edition Unity workshop geared towards Jr. developers.

• Submissions do not require any coding, but we recommend all creators spend at least one hour designing their game idea.

• We encourage creators to share doodles, sketches, background stories, settings, and anything else that will help us imagine your game
